another beautiful day

i know i didn't tell everyone, but my dad had bypass surgery today.  he was a good candidate for the robot surgery, so he didn't have to have open heart surgery.  i got a call from my mom a few hours ago and everything went as planned.  he will be in the hospital for another couple of days just to make sure.  i haven't talked to my dad, yet, but i will try to get him tomorrow. 

val asked valdemar to watch kaia today while i was working in the kitchen on something and val had to leave the room for a minute.  when he came back, this is what he found...

valdemar got up on the couch next to his baby sister, found her blanket and put it over them both and was having a conversation with her.  val came and got me so i could see.  it was an unforgetable moment.  :)
