today was a beautiful day

i finished kaia's pants this morning.  i had the machine apart to figure out why my thread was tangling and discovered it was the simple mistake of having the top thread not threaded properly.  new rule... always check the bottom AND the top thread before taking the machine apart.  :)  i ended up finishing the top of the pants with some leftover bamboo velour that i dyed tan with coffee.  i ended up not using any elastic.  the pants fit pretty good.. a little looser than i expected, but not falling off her by any means. 

kaia loves her new pants...

we went on a hike this afternoon and picked some autumn olives. 

and tonight, our little brew master taught me about punching caps on the wine...

today was a good day.
