sewing night

somehow, i found some time to sew tonight.  which is good... since i have a ton of sewing to do in the next couple of weeks.  valdemar didn't take a nap today, so he went to bed early...

let me start from the beginning.  we woke up this morning to more snow.  winter has definately begun in a hurry here.  it is almost as if it is running to catch up.  valdemar and i built towers this morning while val cooked us dipping eggs for breakfast. after breakfast, the valdemars went out to the cold snowy dayd to put our snow tires on the old volvo.  i got a chance to start cutting my next project.  it started out as a beautiful chocolate brown merino wool sweater that i found at the women's resource center last week.  (i found some other goodies, too, that i am going to make myself something with)

this one wasn't even on my long list of sewing projects, but i realized this morning that valdemar does not have wool long johns.  we had talked about going on a hike today, so it became first priority.  we ended up going for a short hike this evening.  since we took so long to get out of the house, we were running out of sunlight.  of course, i did not get them done for the hike.   we came in and ate a quick dinner and valdemar went straight to bed.  kaia didn't want to be without mamma, though, so it went until 11pm when i got some time to sew.  about an hour ago i got them done... ready for being hiked in tomorrow.

a quick thank you to my trusty new serger that helped make these come together quick and professional looking (well, somewhat at least).

i also worked on some x-mas presents and ended the night with a broken needle.  i guess that was good because who knows how long i would have stayed up to finish if not.  :)
